Before arriving at NAF, Tyra was an Associate Director of Development for The Nature Conservancy where she cultivated, solicited, and stewarded gifts between $25,000 and $2M in a combination of outright, non-cash assets, and planned giving.

A fourth-generation Atlantan and proud Spelman College alumna, Tyra demonstrates her knowledge of and commitment to uplifting the city’s many diverse communities by serving as Chair of the Internal Affairs Committee for the DeKalb Library Foundation and Co-Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Atlanta Chapter's Diversity Fellowship.

Tyra is dedicated to using her love of language to help brands and organizations reach their full potential, and founded her editorial agency Ty-pology in August 2020 to help accomplish this goal.
